01

Choose the right scope.

Export documents matching the current query or the whole collection. The export sheet shows which query will be used.

02

Keep types when they matter.

Canonical Extended JSON preserves exact BSON types. Relaxed JSON is available when a more readable representation suits the destination.

03

Make CSV useful.

Choose fields and flatten nested paths into columns. Spreadsheet-formula protection is on by default for text cells and headers.

A few practical details

Good to know.
Before you begin.

Which format should I use to preserve BSON types?

Choose canonical Extended JSON, available in JSON array or NDJSON form. Ordinary CSV is not a type-preserving database backup.

Is import included in this feature?

This page describes export. Import is not part of Bison’s current release scope.
